I wish you could feel how incredibly soft this shawl is! I used antique lace from my grandmother’s lace collection that I inherited and added a touch of fringe. I made this shawl longer as well. It is really a breathtaking piece! It is not spoken for, is it yours? $98. KatiesFolkArtStudio.Etsy.com

Weaving Pro Tip- To stop static electricity in your yarn while winding your shuttle, place a piece of dryer sheet in the container with the yarn. As the skein unwinds, it rubs against the sheet! In this dry climate, static electricity is always an issue. Issue solved!

I am currently weaving a rare-for-me monochromatic shawl with a beautifully soft cream yarn and antique lace that just sings about lovely brides, springtime, and new beginnings. Such a gorgeous day to be in my garden studio!

Geez, we were cute!

Have you ever seen a perfect stranger who had your exact likeness? It is a pretty wild feeling! This happened to me a few years ago in a bookstore. Standing in the same aisle, was me, with dark skin. My husband came up to me later saying that he started to walk up to my twin before realizing it wasn’t me! I have been playing with creating skin tones. I first drew myself with dark skin like my doppelgänger. Then I changed that same painting back into my own fair skin.
