- And her latest- One Woman Farm; My Life Shared with Sheep, Pigs, Chickens, Goats, and a Fine Fiddle.
- A Diary of Dixie by Mary Boykin Chestnut are her true memoirs written in the midst of the Civil War. Fascinating!
- Medicine of the Cherokee by J.T. Garrett is filled with stories, history, and wisdom.
- The Good,Good Pig; The Extraordinary Life of Christopher Hogwood by Sy Montgomery was heartwarming and fun.
- The Little House books by Laura Ingalls are a wealth of homesteader knowledge.
- Poetry by Robert Frost, Maya Angelo, and Mary Oliver…

Farmgirl School 
At the moment I am reading The Heart Is a Lonely Hunter by Carson McCullers. This was her debut novel and she was only 23 yo. It was quite a sensation. It’s an interesting perspective about race, poverty and general attitudes of the 1940 era.

Have you ever thought about Alaska? America’s final frontier as they say. Colorado is such an expensive place to live and the population will keep on growing.
Right now I am reading:
“The Wisdom Of No Escape The Path of Loving Kindness” by Pema Chodron
It’s about living in the moment and being present.
Alaska is a very far drive from my baby! 🙂 I thought of Parker! That is a book I will have to check out!
I am reading “Infidel” byAyaan Hirsiali. This is about a Somali woman who wound up in the Dutch Parliment. Since i am Dutch i thought this would be a good read and an insight to the women in a Muslim culture. I am alsi reading “An Adventure in ayarn Farming” by Barbara Perry . 4 seasons on a new England fiber farm. I like both.
