Rain Dance

lilacs

I see it in the air all around me,

The whisper of nature as it unfolds.

The drought last year was deafening,

Except for fires that blew so bold.

This year new life has sprung and days march on,

Only the tops of trees did not unfurl.

The lower branches holding on,

Cherry and lilac flowers uncurl.

Colorful song birds and frogs still sing on,

Filling the air and making my heart dance.

The daily sweet rain is joyous,

And puts me in a thankful trance.
