Take Me Out to the Ballgame (a birthday party)

My kids sure are creative people and years of Martha Stewart Living while they were growing up seems to have imprinted on them! Our daughter Shyanne and her husband, Jacob, threw our grandson, Lochlan, a baseball themed birthday party. My kids got a sheet cake and a friend could come over on their childhood birthdays! Shyanne goes all out. She spends a week making signs. Our daughter, Emily, made the piñata and large birthday sign. Shyanne is a baker, so there are always beautiful cakes to enjoy. Jacob built a cornhole game for the event. It was fun watching kids run everywhere and to catch up with the adults.

Emily designed a pinata and sign for his party

Lochlan turned three last week and it sure is a fun age. He really understood this year that this was his party and was so elated over everything: the piñata, the presents, the dozens of family and friends there to celebrate him. He’ll have a little brother come June, so the celebrations continue!

Some of the sweetest things in life are celebrations. I am so thankful for friends and family! Now, sing with me, “Take me out to the ballgame, take me out to the crowds, buy me some peanuts and crackerjacks, I don’t care if I ever get back…”
