Every year I write about this topic: the art of the Christmas card and a wish that the joy of letter writing would return. Each year more and more goes away or becomes increasingly less with the advent of the internet and a busier life than ever. Stationary, Christmas cards, shopping small business, and long phone calls are just a few of the things that I hope will make a comeback! Those of us that love simple and old fashioned things also love the slow, methodical tasks and surprisingly joyful happenings, like pulling a letter from a mailbox.

I am excited to settle down with a few books of stamps and my cards and beginning penning little notes on each. What fun to find or create the perfect card to send as a greeting to all you care for.
I love having pen pals too. If you would like to correspond, either with Christmas cards or sharing letters throughout the year, I’d be thrilled! Katie Sanders, P.O. Box 49, Rockvale, CO 81244
This year, let’s start to bring back some of the little pleasures in life. Card games in the evenings, backyard bbq, big Victory gardens, handmade gifts, good books (paper please!), and pen pals.
I hope you all enjoyed your Thanksgiving. We had a full house with wrestling dogs, playing children, and lots of laughter and way too much food. Blessings to all of you this holiday season. Looking forward to your card!

I have just stumbled on your blog and this post immediately caught my eye.
It appears we think alike…I make my own cards when I can and produce a newsletter to slip inside. I am sad that we lost the art of sending postcards and I fear Christmas cards will go the same way.
I will be back later for a longer read.
