Thirteen years ago, I learned about a fascinating thing called a blog. Instead of endless journals and handbound books, I could start something called a blog and share our adventures with the literal world! And Farmgirl School was born.

If five people read my blog, I was just giddy as all get out. I so enjoyed sharing our stories and hearing feedback from others on the same journey (or just laughing at ours!), who had great advice and cheered us on from homestead to homestead. We were at the very beginning of really going all in farming and homesteading and our adventures included learning to garden in high altitude, how to care for chickens, and ended up becoming thirteen years of our life documented for all to see. Solar, cooking on a wood cook stove, chickens, goats, turkeys, new shops, herbal medicines, preserving the harvest, farms, and many ups and downs and experiences came together to create this blog.

I write about everything I love that interests me, from cooking to decorating, herbal remedies, to permaculture, preserving food to crafts, to family and friends to spiritual inspiration. It’s all here.

We started out with five people in our family at the beginning of this blog and next year we will have twelve! Our beautiful family grows and so does our clarity of what we want to do and how we want to live. Our journey is far from over and I hope you will join me for another thirteen years as we intensively regeneratively garden this little homestead, welcome new babies, create new recipes, go on more adventures, and perhaps eventually end up on our dream property with a bunch of rescued sheep.

Thank you, readers. Thank you so much for reading. A writer is nothing if there are no readers. Hold on to your apron strings, we have lots more to do!
How long have you been reading my blog?
Here is the link to the very first blog post.
