I realized the other day that I have been woefully neglectful of my blog! I’ve been so delightfully busy and I have lots of great news!
I have been busy writing something other than my blog…(drum roll), I am writing that gardening book I have been intending to write for years! It finally descended upon me and I am hurriedly trying to catch every word! I didn’t realize until I was away in another climate that I know a thing or two about gardening in the west/southwest. I am excited to share everything I have learned over the last 30+ years about creating sustainable and easy systems for gardening in the high desert. That is one of the things that is keeping me busy.

My fresh, new apothecary is joining my art studio in Canon City! I just finished filling over a hundred jars of herbal medicine and healing body products, including an allergy remedy that works in three minutes and a new lotion that has anti-cancer and skin condition healing herbs in it. Doug and I have been dreaming our desired life into reality. We knew it was time to bring back the apothecary and start helping folks again. Everything is coming together. We even went antique shopping for the perfect apothecary shelving and found it in the first shop we went to!

I have a new loom so I have been busy making medicine shawls on the two looms as well as painting up a storm on canvases and boxes. I am now experimenting with hand dyeing yarn with vegetables and herbs. I am having the time of my life.

I am dreaming up my garden, the redecoration of my magic cottage, and Doug has been busy with photography. He won second place in a recent art show! We are having fun with those grandbabies and loving our time with our children. It’s so good to be home. We are refreshed, focused, and have goals to work together to help serve our community and do the work that we feel is our purpose. I have been finding lots of feathers again.
Anyway, this sounds like a Christmas letter. You all are our friends and I hope you are doing really well, are living the life you want, and are happy. Respond to this blog post and tell me what you are most excited about in your life right now! Can’t wait to hear from you.
Love, Katie

Katie,
Brian and I are moving to Missouri! We will be an hour north of St. Louis overlooking the Mississippi River, in a little town called Clarksville. I am both excited and anxious. Excited for a new adventure and at the same time anxious about the new adventure. Also, with the Estate sale we had before selling my house I think the shawl that you made me got sold with the rest of the stuff in my home LOL! So I need another one specially made from you :-). also let me know if you will be selling your healing remedies via website.
I’m so excited for you! Please get me your new address. I would love to make you a new shawl. As for remedies, you just call or text your order and I’ll ship it to you. I’ll put a page on here with everything we’re making! 303-617-3370. Good luck!
I love this for you!
♥️
your grand babies are all getting so tall even Lachlan, so lovely to see you thriving again. This is wonderful. Still in Spain, home in three weeks Sunday so I’m sure you can guess what I’ll be doing Monday 28th!
I bet you miss your little guy! I’ll write soon!
