The Beautiful Things

Life is filled with the tiniest things that create a mosaic of our day to day and the future memories we hold. Each thing, even as simple as a cup of tulsi rose tea, can directly affect our perspective, our cumulative thoughts, our outward expression to our world, and the people we are around.

These are some of the beautiful things I fill my day with in order to achieve a more positive outlook, greater empathy, more joy and comfort, and a full heart.

After my much needed strong cup of coffee, I like to have a cup of tulsi (holy basil) and rose black tea to fill my heart with love and tamp down anxiety.

I love to pet my cats and watch the birds (so do they!) and feel safe and comfortable in my warm, cozy cottage.

Focusing on the smallest details adds up to so much joy. Lighting a candle and listening to music whilst cooking dinner makes it a delight instead of a chore. Choosing beautiful foods to nourish our bodies, especially in the winter, is such a treat. I so look forward to reading before bed. Such a nice way to wind down in the evenings and let my mind rest after a busy day.

I am reading the loveliest cookbook I have found in years. I Love You by Pamela Anderson is such a delightful book to behold. Turning the pages slowly, reading her poetic prose, dreaming up which recipes to try is a wonderful treat. I’ve been vegetarian for most of my life and her plant based recipes are so inspiring with delicious photographs to revel in. I’m already planning my garden. If you, like me, only think about Pamela Anderson from Baywatch and her tumultuous rock and roll husbands, wait until you read her cookbook. It’s a lovely glimpse into her farm life with her children.

Shyanne and I held our annual Vision Board party Sunday. We always enjoy a house full of some of our favorite women, and there is something about a group of friends co-creating an amazing year ahead. The magical thing about Vision boards is that they always come true. (So, be very careful and specific about what you are manifesting!) Mine was filled with romance, my art studio goals, garden, decorations for my charming coal miner’s cottage, yoga and hiking, and time with family and friends.

It’s snowing now, the mountains around our cottage come in and out from sight, birds swarm the feeders, and the air is clean and fresh. Refreshing. January is the time for creating peaceful twinkles and manifestations. To fill our lives with many, many beautiful moments so that the whole of it is an enchanting interpretation of everything we want it to be.

Happy 2025 Everyone!
