Every year I host a Vision Board party. It’s great fun and is so easy to put on. My Colorado friends and I have gathered at my daughter, Shyanne’s house for the past six years, but this year, I became very sick the last part of my trip and we had to cancel. I miss those ladies! I decided to start the tradition in my new home in Alabama. 

A simple invite to come over at a certain time and date goes out with a request that the guests bring a poster board. If they are so inclined, they may bring scissors, markers, glue sticks, magazines, and maybe a snack to share. I always have enough of everything just in case, but it is fun to see what others bring. This is a fun party because it is just as fun with two people as ten.

I tend to invite ladies from different areas of my life. My new friends are different religions, different stages in life, and I know them from different places, but we all ended up having so much in common. The atmosphere gives way to open conversations that always end in laughter. We help each other find photos in magazines, and together, create our lives for the year. 

Every vision board I have ever done has come to fruition. It is a fact that when you put something out there in such a physical way with witnesses, it will manifest.

What I find interesting is that our respective boards always end up having similar elements. Everyone wants to be healthier, have closer families, to create, and to be outdoors. We all want some money and to be happy. We are all friends on this planet. We all want the same things, and we want the best for each other. It is a glorious part of life to be able to gather with others and share a little fun and support. Simply by asking, “Please pass the glue.”
